The Italian dictionary defines a "bar" as a public place where you stop briefly to enjoy a coffee, a drink, or a light bite, standing or perched on a high stool at the counter.
In reality, the bar is much more: it’s the stage for a truly sacred Italian ritual — the aperitivo. The aperitivo isn't simply about sipping a drink or nibbling on snacks; it's a cultural and social transition, a sacred bridge between the workday and personal life, a vibrant crossroads of human connection. At the counter, you’ll find the regulars, the old men debating loudly, the lively youth gathering with laughter. The aperitivo strengthens local identity and breathes life into small-town Italy. It’s a moment of social unwinding. The bar, with its familiar neon sign, stands like a memory-root, something that helps us stay grounded. The glass in hand — whether a stylish gin fizz or an old-fashioned rosolio — acts as a catalyst for conversation, melting away shyness and opening the way to shared ideas, long-remembered stories, and bursts of laughter.
This rose is a tribute to the bar: fresh, sparkling, citrusy.
The rose imparts a fresh energy, its spicy undertones and shadings from red to pure white bringing happiness and sensual calm. Citruses
Another very important part of the project. Again, here, research on popular plant varieties and experimenting with different extraction methods is vital. We have Cedro di Firenze (Citrus limonimedica) absolute, Key Lime (Citrus latifolia folliis variegatis) essential oil that's microwave-technique distilled, Mato Buntan pomelo (Citrus maxima), Sudachi (Citrus Sudachi), Rangpur lime (Citrus limonia Obseck), Kaduchi (Citrus kerajii), and Combawa (Citrus hystrix) essential oils. Also, wild bergamot (Citrus Bergamia) essential oil obtained through cold pressing. Co-extraction of green yuzu (Citrus yunus) and Hyuganatsu (Citrus tamurana). Tincture of grapefruit (Citrus x Paradisii) leaves and peel.
The citrus fruits are vibrant and offer protection against the body and spirit's low spirits, a remedy against the drabness of life.
Spikenard root (Nardostachys jatamansi) and Criollo cocoa beans, co-extracted for a year in pure 96-proof food grade alcohol. The tincture was then made into an absolute. This co-extraction, along with the spicy and refreshing nuances, creates the base for the rose's exaltation, the key element of the project.
Spikeard eliminates negative thoughts, whilst cocoa with its acidic sweetness helps one abandon oneself to the pleasures of life without excess.
