OudA key element of the project, present in approximately 80g for the entire batch. Research was conducted on Indonesian oud, selected for its slightly salty appearance and marine mottling. Several varieties of wild oud were used: wild oud from the island of Natuna (40g), wild oud from the Pontianak region west of the island of Kalimantan (30g), and vintage wild oud from the island of Merauke south of Papua (10g).
Oud provides strength and royalty. The deep, sensual incense notes of Merauke oud blend perfectly with the earthy, green notes of Natuna oud, together completing the seabed aspect, almost coral concretion and oceanic depth that characterizes Pontianak. An unusual base to enhance and not trivialize the deep abyss that has always been populated by mythical sea monsters and which blends perfectly with the salty green note of seaweed and the co-extraction of myrtle and caper.Helichrysum
Another cornerstone of the project. Entirely Helicrysum italicus, harvested on the coast of Sardinia at the height of its balsamic moment. Used here as an essential oil distilled in our copper still and as an alcohol tincture.
Helichrysum is a harbinger of the sun, capturing its light and immersing it to illuminate the deepest abysses.
Ambergris
Princess of animal notes, like the sperm whale, it sinks to depths of up to 2,000 meters in the deepest waters; it lives the soul of the sea and imprisons it forever, solidifying it, then returning it with grace. Here it is present in absolute form, obtained from ambergris collected on the Sicilian coast and macerated in alcohol for four years. Fertilizes.
Myrrh
Combining water and myrrh is something truly gargantuan. Here we find a blend of Somali and Yemeni Commiphora myrrh, macerated in alcohol for three years and then turned into resinoids, and Commiphora wildii from Namibia, in tincture form.
Myrrh gives strength and optimism, bringing us back down to earth.
